March 2. National Banana cream pie day.

So as I said in my previous post, I was out camping this weekend so my ingredients and cooking materials were very limited. But I wasn't going to skip and use that as an excuse to not make my challenge for the day.  I saw that it was banana cream pie day and immediately, I took out the bananas we packed for our trip. I stared at it for the longest time trying to figure out what to do. How the heck am I going to pull this off? Banana cream pie? At the campsite? Really??


And then I thought of something. I got a bowl, and mashed up my bananas.


I added a little bit of milk and sugar to sweeten it some more.


To thicken it a little, I added some crushed graham crackers.


And then I stopped again for a minute. I thought, a pie crust can be made with graham crackers, right? Sooo... why not use a piece of graham cracker as a "pie" base? So I did. I got a piece of cracker, topped it with some chocolate, and then my "banana cream" mixture, and some fresh sliced bananas.


So there's my banana cream pie! Believe it or not it was actually pretty tasty!
